MasterImage 3D Takes Up Residence at Raleigh Studios Hollywood

3D technology company MasterImage 3D has expanded its headquarters with a move today into new offices at Raleigh Studios. Located in the heart of Hollywood, MasterImage 3D’s new residence in the long-standing independent studio doubles its footprint and gives the company in-house access to its premiere demonstration and customer training venue, the Charlie Chaplin theatre, which is equipped with the MasterImage digital 3D cinema system.

Wolf cinema DCX projectors at raleigh studios

Last year in this blog, I profiled the high-end DCX-series 3-chip DLP projectors from Wolf Cinema. Last week, I joined Tom Norton and Shane Buettner for a tour of Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, CA, where DCX projectors are being used in two historic screening rooms.

The tour was hosted by Wolf and Best Practices Lab (BPL), an industry R&D and training facility located on the Raleigh lot, which is right across the street from Paramount Pictures

Marvel will film superhero sagas at Raleigh Studios in Manhattan Beach

In welcome news for the sluggist local film production economy, Marvel Studios has reached an agreement to film four of its superhero movies at Raleigh Studios in Manhattan Beach.

Marvel said it would shoot the sequel to its hit film "Iron Man" at Raleigh, in addition to "Thor", "First Avenger: Captain America" and "The Avengers". Those films are set for release in 2010 and 2011 and will be distributed through Paramount Pictures.

Hollywood movie makers move into our neighborhood

A different kind of history was made in historic Senoia last Saturday. It was marked by an event that signaled a new partnership and one that will bring even more of Hollywood to Senoia and Coweta and Fayette counties.

The occasion was the Sept. 18 open house at Senoia’s RiverWood Studios that celebrated a long-term management agreement that christened the facility Raleigh Studios Atlanta.


'Iron Man' lifts Marvel's earnings Company expects 'modest' profits next year

Marvel Entertainment delivered some much-needed superhero news Tuesday, reporting "Iron Man" boosted third-quarter profits 40%.

The Gotham film, comic and licensing outfit also raised full-year guidance for 2008, but cautioned that 2009 will see a movie-less lull and resulting earnings softness and a recession hit of 10%-15%. In 2010 and 2011, the company forecasts a rebound thanks to a return to two tentpole releases a year.

Marvel signs long-term lease with Raleigh

Marvel Studios is keeping its movies in California.

The company has signed a long-term lease with Raleigh Studios to film four bud-budget movies at Raleigh's Manhattan Beach complex. The films are "Iron Man 2," "Thor," "The First Avenger: Captain America" and "The Avengers."

As part of the agreement, Marvel will move its Beverly Hills-based executive and production offices to Raleigh's facility in Manhattan Beach.
